‘A SPACE FOR LEARNING’ EXHIBITION AT REGIONAL CULTURAL CENTRE, LETTERKENNY
14 February – 16 March, 2012
The Irish Architecture Foundation’s A SPACE FOR LEARNING exhibition was displayed earlier this year at the Regional Cultural Centre, Port Road, Letterkenny.
This groundbreaking exhibition showcased the winning ten designs from an ideas competition that challenged current thinking on school design. 120 architects worked with 1500 students in 90 schools across Ireland in the developmental phase of this project as architects collaborated directly with Transition Year students on the design of educational spaces.
Ten winning architect-student teams from counties Cavan, Limerick, Louth, Cork and Dublin created films, installations, models and drawings to illustrate their ideas about learning spaces and environments.
Thousands of visitors have seen and enjoyed the exhibition as it toured Dublin, Carlow, Belfast,Cork and Donegal.
