Busaras and Patrick Scott: A Reading in Art and Architecture

To mark the final weekend of the retrospective exhibition Patrick Scott: Image, Space, Light at IMMA and Visual Carlow, IMMA and the IAF invited you to experience one of the artist’s most significant collaboration with the architectural firm Michael Scott and Associates (from 1975 Scott Tallon Walker) within their iconic building of Busáras, Dublin (1944-53). This site-specific discussion gave a range of perspectives on the history of this building and offered the opportunity to pay tribute to the legacy of Pat Scott’s pioneering role in modern art and design, including the artist’s mosaics that remain an enduring feature of one of the city’s most celebrated public buildings.

Chaired by Dr Ellen Rowley (Architectural Historian, TCD), panelists include: Simon Walker (Walker Architects and Chair of DoCoMoMo Ireland), Seán ὁLaoire (founding Director of Murray O’Laoire Architects) Michael Warren (Artist) and Peter Carroll (Director of A2 Architects, Course Director at SAUL).
