New Now Next: Grafton Architects

Kicking off the series sponsored by ARUP are Shelley McNamara and Yvonne Farrell who co founded the Irish international firm Grafton Architects with a talk titled "The Physics of Culture".

New Now Next, our popular architecture talks series launches its Fourth Edition this September. Curated by the Irish Architecture Foundation and sponsored by Arup, the purpose of these free events is to bring dynamic architects to Dublin to inspire audiences who are interested in the innovative research, design and construction of buildings and cities. New Now Next is about disseminating NEW Ideas, regarding contemporary issues relevant NOW that can impact on the NEXT generation.

Kicking off the series at the Royal Irish Academy on September 20 with a talk titled “The Physics of Culture” are Shelley McNamara and Yvonne Farrell who co founded the Irish international firm Grafton Architects in 1978. Directors Gerard Carty and Philippe O’Sullivan have been with the practice since 1992. Grafton Architects are winners of numerous international awards including the World Building of the Year Award 2008 for their building for the Universita Luigi Bocconi in Milan, which is widely acclaimed and recognised as a seminal contemporary work. They were recently selected from a shortlist of prestigious firms to design a new facility for political science at the London School of Economics.

OKK+friends, Office Karolina Keyzer was founded in spring 2016 and is currently working with several housing projects, cultural centres, city
planning, architectural advice, furniture design, teaching and a small addition to Bromma Church.
