The Irish Architecture Foundation is delighted to launch My Architecture Design Journal, a new resource for schools supporting teacher-led or architect-led projects for 14-16 year-olds. The resource is centred on a bespoke Student Design Journal, available as a printed copy or to download, that guides students through a design project based on their school. Students record their investigative and creative work in the journal, following the step-by-step project guidelines.
My Architecture Design Journal is inspired by the creative projects produced by teams of students and architects during A Space for Learning and encourages students to engage with architecture by seeing their everyday environment -their school – in a new light.
My Architecture Design Journal also comprises a Teacher’s Handbook containing lesson support guidelines and is supported by online resources which will also feature postings by participants of architect-in-school projects: www.mydesignjournal.ie
For a limited time, the Student Design Journal and Teacher’s Handbook are available as free printed copies to teachers and architects interested in delivering school-based architecture projects.
