We Built This City: New York

A lively panel discussion will chronicle the development of New York City from historic to contemporary times, focusing on the contribution Irish people have made to the city’s built and cultural fabric.

Irish Architecture Foundation is delighted to announce that We Built this City: New York will take place on 19 May 2016 in the Ford Foundation, New York.

Marion R. Casey (Glucksman Ireland House NYU), Daryl Kerrigan (CEO, Creative Director, Daryl K),Caroline O’Donnell (Principal, CODA), Kevin Roche (Principal, KRJDA), Brian Tolle (Artist, Irish Hunger Memorial NYC) will discuss the theme from their distinctive perspectives with moderator Raymond W. Gastil, AICP (Director, Pittsburgh Dept. of City Planning).

Kicking off the event is a screening of an IAF commissioned short by Dyehouse Films.

We Built This City is curated by the Irish Architecture Foundation in collaboration with Irish Design 2015 and the Office of the Minister for Diaspora Affairs of Ireland. Irish Design 2015 was an initiative backed by the Irish Government celebrating and promoting Irish design in Ireland and internationally.
