Open House Belfast 2017

27.10.17-29.10.17

Open House Belfast, delivered by PLACE, includes some of the city’s most interesting buildings and spaces opening up their doors for the public to experience, free of charge. There are four categories to look forward to: Buildings, Engineering Projects, Open Offices and Special Events. Some of Belfast’s favourite locations are returning to the programme, such as Transport House, Carlisle Memorial Church and The Strand Arts Centre and engineering projects will include The Lagan Weir and tunnel. A host of architects and engineers will invite you into their offices, studios and workshops to see how they work, and special events will include accessing the heights of the Lanyon building at Queen’s University to see the conservation brick work they are undertaking and a walk around North Belfast’s ‘Cultural Corridor’. The format of the access will be mixed, some places will be open for a drop in experience and some will have an expert on site to take you on a walk and talk. Whether you are a resident of, or a visitor to Belfast, this is your opportunity to discover the city from new perspectives, hearing directly from the designers and operators involved. Visit www.openhousebelfast.org where you can soon browse the programme.
