This one day seminar is open to owners of historic properties free of charge.  A panel of experts will offer a guide to best practice as they discuss issues relating to conservation, maintenance, energy efficiency and biodiversity.

 

Speakers will include Michael O’ Boyle, Conservation Architect, on the practical steps to be taken when undertaking repairs, refurbishment or alterations to protected structures and traditionally built buildings.  Dr Barry O’ Reilly will present on the diversity of historic buildings in County Tipperary from 1700 onwards. Frank Keohane, Chartered building surveyor will speak address issues that need to be considered to improve energy efficiency and thermal performance. Ricky Whelan will discuss the various species of birds and mammals associated with historic buildings and look at ways to deter problems and conserve species in accordance with legislation. An over view of supports and legislation will be provided by Tipperary County Council Planning Department and the Department of Culture, Heritage and Gaeltacht.
