The Department of Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht in association with the Irish Georgian Society and the National Disability Authority are hosting a one-day conference on access to historic buildings and places on Wednesday, 30th May 2012 starting at 9am. This event will take place in the Presidents’ Hall, formerly the Chapel of the Blue Coat School, at the Law Society, Blackhall Place, Dublin 7.
The conference will be of interest to anyone involved in managing, developing or designing for historic buildings and facilities. The target audience includes facilities managers, design teams, architectural conservation and heritage officers, conservation architects, building control officers, access officers, and planners.
The conference will help to identify the balance between improvements in accessibility and protecting the integrity of the building or facility drawing on local and international best practice.
The cost for this event is €70 per person including a light lunch. Bookings can be made online through the Irish Georgian Society website www.igs.ie. There are limited places remaining for the event.
