Canadian artist, Alex Murphy, opens his first solo show in Ireland this Wednesday night at Pallas Projects. The exhibition is strongly influenced by his architectural background. Alex is completing his fourth year of a Bachelor of Fine Art degree at OCAD University in Toronto, Ontario. He holds a Master of Architecture degree from Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia and is currently a professor of design at Sheridan College in Canada. Alex is interested in marginal individuals and communities, particularly the experiences of the homosexual male and the unsung working class. Mappe e Manoscritti Contemporanea, Alex’s first solo exhibition presents new drawings and paintings inspired by and created in Florence, Italy where he spent a year researching.
