As part of Absolut Fringe, Spirit of the Fringe 2011 winners, the WillFredd Theatre company presents FARM. They are taking over a warehouse on Pearse Street and building a show that will pull the countryside into the city and unearth the farmer inside the audience.
FARM explores the urban and the rural; where they meet and integrate and how they affect our everyday lives. In a time where economic uncertainty is supported solidly by agriculture, many people are now looking to the land to support them. We know increasingly less about where our food comes from, although many people living in Irish cities are no more than a couple of generations from the land. FARM will present and pull apart the stories, views, and routines of rural life in a space within the confines of the city.
Teaming up with farmers young and old, beekeepers, allotment owners and city dwellers they will interrupt the city centre with FARM, a space where the Rural and the Urban unite and bloom. Play with the cycles of life and death, land and machines, animals and insects, dawn and dusk. Make your way to FARM, get your hands dirty and unearth your roots.
Meet at The Lir Academy, the performance lasts 60 minutes.
