As part of the Liberties Festival 2012 historian Pat Liddy will be leading a historical walking tour through the area on Wednesday 18th July at 2pm – 3.30pm. This Walk & Talk event will look at “The Liberties: Dublin’s Earliest Tax Incentive Area”.
This walk will take in areas of the Medieval Liberties which in the 17th century evolved into an economic miracle only to collapse dramatically in the 18th century, plunging the Liberties into near destitution.
