The exhibition Our Common Ground, curated by Áine Gallagher, will form part of Westport Arts Festival, 1st to 14th October 2012, and aims to encourage a better public understanding of the benefits of a developing urban architecture. Proposals are invited by architects and graduates of Irish Schools of Architecture, individually or in collaboration with other disciplines (artists, writers, teachers, musicians, etc..), for an ideas exhibition that explores the sharing of urban landscapes in Ireland.
This year’s Westport Arts Festival takes place mid-way through the 13th Venice Biennale (29th August – 25th November 2012 – www.labiennale.org). The four firms of Irish architects participating at this inspiring Venetian show, Grafton Architects, Heneghan Peng, O’Donnell Tuomey and Clancy Moore Architects, will each send a synopsis of their Venice exhibits to Westport creating a portal between the global scale of the Venice Biennale and the local scale of the Westport Arts Festival.
The deadline for submissions is Tuesday 11th September 2012.
For full submission details see westportartsfestival.com
The exhibition will take place in Westport Public Library, official opening on Tuesday 2nd October, and will run until Wednesday 31st October.
