The Dubline; Call for Interpretation and Animation Proposals Deadline 31st July

Fáilte Ireland, Dublin City Council and the Office of Public Works share an ambition to significantly enhance the visitor experience of Dublin through the creation of a unique branded cultural trail from College Green to Kilmainham – The Dubline. The development of the Dubline is a long-term project and will bring together the public, private and voluntary sectors to work collaboratively on making the most of this journey through Dublin’s past and present. Development of the Dubline will involve bringing to life the heritage of the area, the stories of people and places along the route, making it easier to navigate and explore as well as improving the appearance of public spaces. Our vision is that the rich tapestry of Dublin’s history (Viking, medieval, academic, spiritual, industrial and military) will be unlocked and highly visible to tourists along the route from College Green to Kilmainham. Whether a tourist seeks out the Dubline or happens across it, branding, interpretation and way-finding will ensure that they are aware of the heritage and culture around them and will be motivated to explore.

The Interpretation and Animation Scheme

Fáilte Ireland welcomes proposals from visitor attractions, creative companies and local stakeholder groups (working individually or in groups) to create new visitor experiences in indoor and outdoor spaces along the Dubline, that interpret and animate the rich heritage of the area. The overall aim of the Interpretation and Animation Scheme is to enhance the visitor experience of Ireland by supporting innovative interpretation and animation projects which bring to life our heritage and culture both inside visitor attractions and also in the public spaces of key destinations where we can engage those visitors who might not otherwise enter museums, galleries and historic sites.
