Vertical Sprawl is a provocation intended to arouse interest in how we live. It examines what the possible repercussions could be should we fail to address the consequences of the nation’s obsessions with the car and land ownership—the traditional driving forces behind the epidemic of horizontal sprawl. If we do nothing, we may be faced with such a hypothetical scenario, a fantastical vision of how Irish towns and cities may be forced to develop post 2030.
